Easy Garlic Toast

Sunday, January 23

This easy garlic bread recipe is a must for any bruchetta or tapenade spread. They are so easy to make and even easier to eat. Although garlic toast is usually really simple to make and hard to mess up, I have made some pretty so-so garlic bread in the past. But then I tried making it this way and it turns out great every time.

These  are quite crispy and better served with some kind of a spread. I have other recipes that I use if want a softer garlic bread to serve as a side to a meal.

Start with a fresh french baguette and slice it into 1/2-1 inch pieces. Melt half a stick of butter and add roughly 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt and 1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning. The amount of seasoned butter you will need will vary depending on how much bread you are using. It’s easy enough to make more if you need it.

Dip the sliced bread in the butter mixture and lay on a baking sheet butter side up. Make sure you get them nicely covered in butter. Bake at 350 for about 10 min till they are golden brown. Make sure to keep an eye on them cause they cook fast. The longer you have them in the oven the crispier they will be. If you want them a bit softer put them under the broiler for a few min instead of baking them. Make sure to watch them though. They brown fast!

These little toasts are a great when served with a bruchetta topping or olive tapenade.
