Homemade Olive Tapenade

Tuesday, January 25

This is on of my all time favorite snacks. Kalamata olive tapenade. I can eat it on just about anything…even with a spoon! Not only  am I a huge fan of Kalamata olives but I’m a huge fan of salt. So you can’t beat this recipe.

It’s simple. Only a few ingredients and you have a wonderful snack.

1 Cup Kalamata Olives (pits removed)

3 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil

1-2 Cloves Fresh Garlic

4 Large Basil Leaves

1 Teaspoon Lemon Juice

Add all the ingredients to a food processor and process until everything is finely chopped. Oh…one tip…make sure you check the olives to make sure there weren’t any pits left behind. I find that food processors don’t like them.

You can serve it on freshly grilled toast, crackers or even use it as a spread on a sandwich. If you want a good recipe for an easy lunch, check out the Vegetarian Olive Tapenade Sandwich. It’s fantastic!
